Russia asks for urgent passage of humanitarian convoy to Donbass

This is stated in a message from the Russian Foreign Ministry following a telephone conversation between Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov and Laurent Corb, head of operational activities of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Europe and Central Asia.
“The Russian side has done everything possible to ensure complete safety of the passage of the humanitarian convoy and the subsequent prompt distribution of humanitarian aid among those in need,” the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized, especially noting the need for an early start of the humanitarian mission.
At the same time, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine stated that so far humanitarian cargo from Russia has not crossed the border.
“There are two main reasons: the first is that Ukrainian border guards and customs officers did not receive documentation about this convoy in order to begin its customs clearance and clearance, and the second is that members of the International Committee of the Red Cross, who must send this cargo to the Lugansk region, have not yet received guarantees of traffic safety this column from the opposing side,” said Andrei Lysenko, speaker of the NSDC Information and Analytical Center.
As Navigator reported, at the moment the first 16 Russian KAMAZ vehicles out of 280 are at the Donetsk checkpoint in the Rostov region. The rest of the humanitarian aid convoy remains in the area of the city of Kamensk-Shakhtinsky.
