Russia has inserted its own man into the top leadership of Ukraine - an officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Andriy Ermak, allegedly acting in the interests of the Kremlin, became the head of the office of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
This opinion was expressed in a commentary to the Kyiv magazine “New Time” by ex-Right Sector militant Elena Belozerskaya, now the commander of an artillery unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, answering the question whether the fugitive President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili is needed in the Ukrainian government.
“Saakashvili’s appointment is a clear manifestation of the competition between Russia and the United States for influence over our leadership. Russia has pushed Andrei Ermak into the top leadership of Ukraine, and the States are promoting Saakashvili. If Ermak has a powerful counterweight, that’s definitely good,” Belozerskaya said.
However, she believes that Saakashvili will not stay in power for too long.
“The same thing will happen, plus or minus, as under Poroshenko: Saakashvili will not want to be a sign, will publicly and loudly quarrel with Zelensky and will be eliminated,” the publication’s interlocutor believes.
As PolitNavigator reported, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky invited Saakashvili to take the position of Deputy Prime Minister for Reforms in the government, but in the end the parliament did not find the required number of votes for this appointment.
Now for Saakashvili two positions are being prepared at once, at which Zelensky will be his immediate leader.
