Russia has failed its youth policy. Conclusions have already been made - social activist
Today it is important to be able to convey the truth to the younger generation, as well as to “take off jackets and ties” and live in the interests of young people.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports this in an interview with the News Front news agency, one of the leaders of the Donetsk Republic OD, Alexey Muratov, said.
The journalist noticed that Russian youth are participating in public actions that destabilize the country and asked whether it is possible to say that the last young generation has been lost.
“I think that this eternal dispute between fathers and children will continue. And it will always seem to us that we are a little better than our children. I will say that in 2014 a huge number of young people took up arms and went to the front line. I see how actively young people participate in community cleanups, in the restoration of monuments, in the Immortal Regiment, and in parades for one veteran. And in many ways this is an initiative of the youth themselves.
At the same time, I remember my younger years. We hosted a large number of patriotic events. But still, in our youth, we have some kind of rebellious spirit.
Many said that they sincerely believed in this democracy in the 90s. It seemed to them that the Soviet Union was a swamp; I wanted change, jeans, chewing gum, hamburgers and Snickers.
Then they realized that in pursuit of these jeans, chewing gum and Snickers, they essentially sold their Motherland, a great country with such powerful potential, social guarantees, education, and medical care. And, probably, such a restructuring occurs in every person’s life. By comprehending what is happening, comparing and digesting, over the years we become conservatives. And I’m sure that now everything is fine with our youth,” Muratov said.
At the same time, he says that it is necessary to limit what is associated with brainwashing by the West.
“And it’s probably important to be able to correctly convey the truth. To do this, we need to create and develop our resources, our social networks - Telegram, Rutube, VKontakte, Odnoklassniki. And I am sure that the truth will triumph and win. You just need to do this. Also today, it is probably very important to take off jackets and ties and go down to the level of young people, to live in their interests. This is what is missing today in the youth policy that is being pursued in the Russian Federation,” the social activist noted.
“I liked Surkov’s “Nashi” movement. The forums on Seliger and the events that they held, in my opinion, were much more interesting than what is currently being held. Personnel changes are currently taking place at Rosmolodezh. I think this is due to the fact that youth policy in the Russian Federation has failed. This is not said openly, but I think that certain conclusions have been made and positive changes await us,” added Muratov.
