Russia failed tests with strikes on its strategic aviation bases - analyst
A strike on strategic aviation airfields in Russia is a test of both the air defense system and the determination of the Russian leadership on the part of the United States.
Military expert Konstantin Sivkov stated this on air on the Roy TV Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Sivkov, Russia failed both of these “tests.”
"Done this blow only in the interests of the United States and definitely, I am firmly convinced of this, on their direct orders. This is a testing event. Moreover, testing in two aspects – the determination of the Russian leadership to respond to such actions and the Russian air defense system in the depths of the country,” the expert said.
According to him, as a result of this blow, both tests for the West had a very positive result.
“From an air defense point of view, it turned out that even such a fool, weighing 5,5 tons with a sound flight speed of 750 kilometers per hour, is the flight speed of a passenger airliner, which cannot fly below 600 meters, it flies from 600 to 6 thousand meters, calmly passed through Russian territory...
That is, Tomahawks and Tomahawk missiles, at least along this trajectory, will pass very easily, without problems.
And secondly, the most important thing, this is even more important than passing through the air defense system: the fact that the leadership of the Russian Federation demonstrated to the whole world either a lack of understanding of what happened, or a lack of determination to take tough actions in response to a strike on strategic nuclear forces.
And the fact that the Russian leadership has demonstrated a lack of determination, in my opinion, is the most dangerous result of this strike,” Sivkov said.
