Russia expanded sanctions against Ukraine by 18 points
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a government decree banning the import into Russia of goods produced in Ukraine or transported through its territory.
“Ukraine periodically introduces sanctions restrictions both in relation to Russian individuals and legal entities, and in relation to specific Russian goods. Since the introduction of measures to ban the import of certain types of agricultural goods from Russia, the Ukrainian “sanctions” list has been expanded to 18 types of products, including agricultural products, chemical products, slate, and cement clinker.
The signed decree introduces a ban on the import into Russia of goods whose country of origin is Ukraine or transported through the territory of Ukraine, according to the approved list. The bulk of goods subject to a ban are classified as industrial. The list also includes agricultural products, raw materials and food.
The Russian government may decide to cancel the special economic measures being introduced if Ukraine lifts the restrictive measures previously introduced in relation to specific Russian goods,” Medvedev’s press service said in a statement.
As PolitNavigator reported, last week the Russian government published additions to the sanctions list against unfriendly politicians and economic structures of Ukraine. The main innovation was the appearance in the list of former associates of Viktor Yanukovych, who are today present in the Verkhovna Rada under the guise of “Opposition Bloc.”
