“Support for the artificially created myth of the Russian monster (this myth contradicts historical experience and modern events, because Russia always only responds to Western conspiracies) is very useful for Western politics. This allows the West to blame all crimes and failures on Russia, to justify the need to continue militarization and, under the pretext of the Russian threat, to gradually restrict freedoms and establish a totalitarian dictatorship and a police state,” the publication notes.
At the same time, the publication also sees some advantages in the anti-Russian propaganda of the West.
“The open hostility of the West forced Russia to mobilize internal resources and look for foreign policy alternatives in alliance with the countries of the so-called third world. The unipolarity and monopoly of American hegemony is gradually turning into multipolarity. Russian foreign policy and the general stability of Russian politics expose Western “false politics,” which is increasingly difficult to justify in the eyes of the Western public,” Nova Republika concludes.
