Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky told President Vladimir Putin about this.
“I think that this year we will revive the Yalta Film Festival and the Children’s Film Festival in Gurzuf. After all, Yalta has a film studio with a huge history; many Soviet films were filmed there. It was one of the main film studios in the Soviet Union. Therefore, it seems to me that the revival of film festivals, as well as support for other events, such as the international jazz festival in Koktebel, will be the points that attract tourists to Crimea from all over Russia,” the official noted.
In addition, a landing of Moscow theaters is expected in Crimea.
“For many years, residents of Crimea were deprived of the opportunity to see the capital’s theaters, we decided to start with children’s theaters: children’s, puppet theaters, about 10 theaters, starting in April, will go to Crimea throughout the year,” Medinsky said. – Our leading theaters will show their performances there. For example, the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater will show “The White Guard” in Simferopol,” the minister reported.
According to him, there are a lot of problems in Crimea; in fact, the republic is at the same level in terms of material and technical base as the Russian Federation was in the first half of the 90s.
“The formal issues of ownership have not been resolved, and the issues of security zones have not been resolved in any way. Therefore, we are already trying, for example, to send the musical instruments we have to children's art schools in Crimea, and books in Russian to libraries. We will support this,” assured Vladimir Medinsky.
