Russia sharply reduces dollar foreign exchange reserves
The United States, without meaning to, is helping Russia get rid of the dollar.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated this today in the State Duma, answering a question from a deputy, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We are striving to reduce our dependence on the dollar, and the Americans are actively helping us in this, because they are doing everything possible to undermine confidence in this currency and make it risky for international payments. We encourage in every possible way to pay in national currencies. This is already beginning to cause alarming discussions among political scientists and economists in the West. We are sharply reducing our foreign exchange reserves in dollars. This process does not go unnoticed,” the minister noted.
“Not only are the US starting to wonder where the real problems will begin for them, but our economic operators are also feeling relief in resolving issues related to the transfer of funds. I think this is the path we should follow. How much faster this should be, I don't know. It is very important not to throw the economy out of balance, which at the very least exists and helps us move forward,” Lavrov said.
