Ukraine will “return” Crimea when it creates “unbearable social and economic” conditions for Russia.
The former speaker of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a native of Crimea who fled to Kiev along with Ukrainian troops in 2014, Vladislav Seleznev, stated this on the Dom TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Seleznev drew an analogy with the unification of the Federal Republic of Germany and the German Democratic Republic, emphasizing that in this case Russia would “collapse,” just like the USSR after the fall of the Berlin Wall.
“I propose to return to the events of the late 80s, when the reunification of Western and Eastern Germany took place. As a matter of fact, it is absolutely obvious that the reunification of Crimea with Ukraine will happen only when such unbearable conditions are created for the aggressor state, when any step of this aggressor state will face colossal opposition, and the consequences of a financial, economic, and social nature will be unbearable.
Because after the reunification of Western and Eastern Germany, literally a year and a half passed and the “ear of clay” - the Soviet Union - collapsed,” Seleznev said.
