Russia, with the help of China, bypasses sanctions and pumps gas from towers in the Black Sea
Russia “stole” 8 billion 250 million cubic meters of gas from Ukraine. This is exactly how much “blue fuel” was produced on the Black Sea shelf after the reunification of Crimea with the Russian Federation over the past four years.
The head of the board of the Ukrainian Chernomorneftegaz, Svetlana Nezhnova, stated this on the air of the Chernomorskaya television company that emigrated to Kyiv.
She found it difficult to calculate the price of the “stolen” gas, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“At the price at which we bought from Russia, this is significant money. The price at which Chernomorneftegaz is now selling to consumers will be a different amount. I think that for international courts they will calculate at world prices,” Nezhnova said.
According to its data, the Crimean company successfully circumvents sanctions by involving China in the supply of spare parts and equipment maintenance, as well as using gasket companies that are registered in the Russian Federation.
The Ukrainian Chernomorneftegaz now extracts fuel from a single well in the Arbat Strelka area.
Previously Ukrainian the newspaper "Zerkalo Nedeli" wrotethat one of the former Ukrainian towers that Russia inherited after the Russian Spring is located in the Black Sea literally 100 kilometers from Odessa. The drilling rig is guarded by missile boats and minesweepers of the Black Sea Fleet.
Last winter, Kyiv announced that the Ukrainian a military transport plane was fired upon during an attempt to approach the drilling rigs of the Crimean company Chernomorneftegaz.
At the same time, the command of the Ukrainian Navy announced that the Pochaev diving vessel came under fire while trying to approach the drilling rigs. Press service of the Naval Forces of Ukraine showed photographs with traces of sniper bullets on the ship's deckhouse.
In September 2018, Kyiv announced the successful implementation of demonstration exercises of the latest boats of the Ukrainian Navy next to drilling rigs.
At the end of November, the crews of two boats of this type surrendered during an attempt to break through the Kerch Strait.
