Russia has done what could not be done under Ukraine: the Ai-Petri Plateau in Crimea has been cleared of scammers
On the famous Ai-Petri plateau in Crimea, the demolition of shalmans has been completed, the press service of the head of the republic Sergei Aksenov reported today.
This is an unconditional success for the Crimean authorities. For a long time, it was not possible to clear the protected area of the ugly stalls. In Ukrainian times, an attempt to demolish illegal buildings led to large-scale clashes between Berkut and representatives of the Majlis, now banned in the Russian Federation, whose activists controlled retail outlets.
As follows from Aksenov’s statement, a compromise was reached, among other things, thanks to the participation of State Duma deputy Ruslan Balbek, who represents the Crimean Tatars in the Russian parliament.

“43 entrepreneurs agreed to voluntarily remove their retail outlets, and in return received plots to continue their activities in Bakhchisaray and Simeiz.
At the same time, work to put the Ai-Petri plateau in order will continue. It is planned to lay tiles at the demolition site as early as July 1 to create an observation deck. At the same time, there will be no further construction on this territory. Of course, the Crimean authorities will not stop there. We will continue to build on our success starting in the fall. In addition, at the same time, similar work will begin in the resort cities of Crimea, Alushta and Yalta,” says Aksenov.
However, the Crimean press does not believe that the Ai-Petri plateau will remain without new buildings. The media are putting forward versions that a new modern resort may appear here. Sberbank, which previously built the five-star Mriya Hotel on the South Coast, was named as a potential investor. In addition, Sevastopol developer Evgeny Kabanov was mentioned among the potential participants in the new project.
