“Russia is in a very strong position today,” Ukrainian diplomat
Western countries, including the United States, are now trying to come to an agreement with Moscow, even if it is to the detriment of the interests of Ukrainian independentists.
Verkhovna Rada deputy, diplomat Oleg Voloshin stated this on air on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Russia is in a very strong position today. There is a consensus in the West to normalize relations with the Russian Federation in a wide range. It’s no joke – the President of the United States, seemingly the leader of the fight against Russia, is calling for Russia to be returned to the G7. The Russian delegation has been returned to PACE, Macron is talking about a strategic alliance between the Russian Federation and the EU,” the deputy noted.
According to him, the prisoner exchange that took place was not at all due to any pressure on Russia.
“Moscow, in general, could continue to calmly keep all these people, knowing full well that nothing special would happen to it for this - and so there are huge sanctions, but somehow Russia lives, and I don’t yet see any signs that that economically the Russian Federation lives worse than Ukraine, this is not so,” Voloshin noted.
“Poroshenko writes that the International Tribunal has pinned Putin to the wall - this is nonsense. I know from very reliable sources that it was the International Tribunal that almost ruined everything; these sailors could have been released earlier. Moscow’s position boils down to the fact that “There is no need to put pressure on us,” the people’s deputy added.
