According to him, he was repeatedly approached by commanders of Ukrainian troops who stated that they would not fight with Russia. Only the National Guard and volunteers fought against the militias.

“They asked me, when will Russian troops enter? They were waiting for Russian troops and said quite openly: “We will not fight against Russia.” Not only Donetsk-Lugansk was waiting for the Crimean option, everyone was waiting for it, and no one at that time was going to fight against Russia.
