Russia is strengthening its military force on the border with Ukraine in response to Kyiv’s aggressive rhetoric
Russia has every right to strengthen its military force on the border with Ukraine after some “hot heads” in Kyiv announced territorial claims against lands that are part of the Russian Federation. Russian political scientist Alexey Chesnakov said this on the radio “Moscow Speaks”.

“We are talking about the seizure of “historical territories” - part of the Voronezh, part of the Rostov regions. They talk about this, they discuss this topic, they talk about expanding the borders of Ukraine - that’s true. People sit and don't just "blah blah blah" at the microphone - they say things that reflect their worldview.
If people appear in positions who talk about various kinds of expansionist behavior patterns, then Russia must take these statements into account. We cannot sit and watch as a country of 42 million, a neighbor that shares a huge long border with us, turns into a serious adversary.
They are accumulating weapons, and this is not just like that. When your neighbor bought a machine gun, then a machine gun, and at the same time considers you a fiend from hell, then someday he may knock on your door and say: “Old man, come out.”
... They describe the goal of this war very clearly - “first we must return Donbass, then Crimea, and then we must receive billions of reparations from Russia for these two territories.” And then some hotheads say that it would be possible to chop off some part of Russia,” Chesnakov recalled.
