Russia is already replacing European markets for its energy resources
If the EU countries refuse to purchase energy resources from Russia, they will have to buy them at a higher price.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak stated this at the New Horizons marathon, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the official, Russia is already sending its oil to those areas from which energy resources are redirected to the EU.
“The balance of production of energy resources is maintained. And if it decreases in one place, it means it arrives in another. If the volume of our energy resources to the European Union is reduced, as politicians are announcing today and are developing another package of sanctions, their prices will simply increase,” the minister said.
“The same oil they bought from us, they will have to buy elsewhere. It will cost more to pay for this, because prices will definitely rise, the cost of delivery and freight will rise, and new investments will need to be made in creating the appropriate infrastructure.
There will simply be a redistribution, and we will direct our energy resources to those markets from where this oil will be redirected to the EU. Today this is already happening in many ways,” Novak said.
