Russia at the UN explained why Putin did not congratulate Zelensky
Russia will not send symbolic flowers and congratulations to the elected President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky until he demonstrates his true intentions to change the situation in Donbass. Russian representative in the organization Vasily Nebenzya stated this, speaking at an extraordinary meeting of the UN Security Council, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The diplomat emphasized that Zelensky’s statements often contradict each other, while his exact position is not clear.
“It’s too early to send flowers. The signals coming from President Zelensky, who won the elections, are still contradictory.
We are sincerely interested in him taking real steps to resolve the situation, but intentions are learned by deeds, not in advance, so we will monitor how he implements his declared desires to change the situation in Donbass.
We will see whether he will adhere to the Minsk agreements or come up with new formats for how to do this. Time will tell,” Nebenzya said.
