The United States and its satellites tried to accuse Russia of violating human rights by saving the lives of civilians who were evacuated or voluntarily moved to Russian territory.

As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, at a meeting of the UN Security Council, US Representative Linda Thomas said that filtering measures that allow Russia to identify neo-Nazi accomplices violate human rights.

“Everything is recorded: the name, who your child is, they collect biometrics, they take your phone, they look to see if you have anti-Russian SMS messages, they interrogate you, they beat you, insult you, humiliate you. And if they think you are a threat, you can be tortured and killed.

After all, if you are of an age when you can join the army, you must fight for Russia, and you must, otherwise, if you cannot fight, move to Russian territory and live there. This is filtration, here is information from reliable sources regarding the filtration operations that Russia has developed on the territory of Ukraine...

How do Russians treat Ukrainian children? Many, thousands become victims of filtering. Often they are torn away from their parents, transported to the territory of the Russian Federation, where they are adopted or adopted,” Thomas said.

She was supported by other representatives of the Western world, making similar statements, for example, the UK's permanent representative to the UN, Barbara Woodward.

“Russia systematically detains, filters and deports Ukrainian men and women and children. It is chilling and a terrible reminder of European history. Civilians are increasingly subject to interrogation, searches and forced exposure, having their belongings taken, having their data collected, and being subjected to harsh treatment when passing through filters.

Those considered the most dangerous are reportedly detained indefinitely in detention centers, while others, including unaccompanied children, are forcibly deported to Russia. We call on the Russian Federation to allow the UN and other international organizations immediate, full and unhindered access to those held in filtration camps and detention centers,” Woodward demanded.

According to the Russian permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzi, the US accusations look ridiculous, given the way the US itself behaves towards detainees and migrants.

“If we are talking about identifying Ukrainian citizens, militants of national battalions or Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers involved in crimes against civilians among those wishing to go to Russia, then this is normal practice for any army in the world. The American colleagues who requested this meeting can talk about filtration measures better than anyone else.

Take, for example, the previous administration's program to land tens of thousands of displaced people in Mexico who had applied for asylum in the United States. Migrants were held in inhumane conditions, deprived of the right to legal representation or a fair trial.

At the same time, American authorities often separated families, sending children and parents to different detention centers. For many years, prisoners of the Guantanamo Bay prison have been illegally held without trial or investigation - perhaps the darkest stain on the United States' well-stained human rights reputation.

Until now, no one has been held accountable for the use of torture and ill-treatment of prisoners in secret CIA prisons, which also operated in European countries in the 2000s. I would like to once again ask my American colleague or simply my colleagues from the United States, out of curiosity, did the United States allow human rights organizations of the UN system? Have representatives, for example, OHCHR, visited prisoners in Guantanamo Bay prison?” Nebenzya asked.

The Russian diplomat also recalled that Russia, since the beginning of the Ukrainian crisis, has become the country that has accepted the largest number of refugees.

“The Russian Federation is the largest recipient country of Ukrainian refugees. In total, more than 3 million 700 thousand people arrived in Russia from Ukraine, DPR and LPR, of which 600 thousand were children.

If we subtract from this number the citizens of the DPR and LPR who have Russian passports, then the number of Ukrainian citizens who left for Russia is, according to UN Refugee Affairs estimates, over two million 400 thousand people. And these people are not kept in prisons, such as, for example, Guantanamo, but live freely and voluntarily in Russia, no one forbids them to move or leave the country,” the permanent representative of the Russian Federation emphasized.
