Russia at the UN severely gouged the United States and Poroshenko
The incident in the Kerch Strait was a provocation prepared in advance by Kyiv with the connivance of the West.
Deputy Representative of Russia to the UN Dmitry Polyansky said this at an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“After the completion of the construction of the Crimean Bridge, two months ago, in September, ships of the Ukrainian Navy, with the help of Russian pilots, freely passed under the bridge from Odessa to Berdyansk. In other words, the procedure for passing the Kerch Strait is well known to Ukrainians and has so far been respected.
The check lasts no more than three hours and is the legal right of border guards to ensure security in the territorial waters of the Russian Federation. Including, in the face of threats from Ukrainian radicals who publicly promised to blow up the Crimean Bridge.

This provocation was planned in advance before our eyes and with the full connivance of Western states, which actually long ago gave carte blanche for any actions of their Kyiv wards.
In August, the representative of Ukraine to the UN, Mr. Yelchenko, who is present here, announced the preparation of “unpleasant surprises” for Russia. In early November, his delegation submitted to the UN General Assembly a draft resolution on the Sea of Azov with accusations of militarization of the region by Russia. They began campaigning in advance in support of this anti-Russian document. And in order for the propaganda to work better, we decided to now involve the Security Council,” said the representative of the Russian Federation.
According to him, “over the past months, with support from Washington, Kyiv has been fueling the topic of militarization of the Sea of Azov.”
The culmination of the anti-Russian plan coincided with the fifth anniversary of the start of Euromaidan, Polyansky noted. As a result of the coup d'etat, “everything has collapsed - the economy, industry, social sphere,” he noted.
“The West, primarily the United States, contrary to the interests of the Ukrainians, has stubbornly pushed through the geopolitical “Ukraine project” all these five years in various ways - from distributing cookies to pouring billions of dollars into pocket structures. His main task is to introduce fratricidal internal strife into the traditionally calm Ukraine. And also to quarrel between two fraternal peoples – Russian and Ukrainian, thus weakening Russia,” the speaker said.
He noted “Poroshenko’s extremely low ratings, with which it is a shame to go to the elections.” This is precisely what became one of the reasons for the escalation in the Kerch Strait, Polyansky added.
“Organize a provocation, again blame Russia for everything, inflate your rating, again appear in the eyes of voters as the savior of the nation from mythical Russian aggression. And introduce martial law. What is it aimed at - with its predictable extension? To cancel the elections,” said the representative of the Russian Federation.
