Today only storytellers who have never visited the peninsula in these five years can speak about the “horrors of the Russian occupation of Crimea.”

This was stated by First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia in this organization, Dmitry Polyansky, speaking at a meeting of the UN Security Council, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

He conducted an experiment and invited those present in the meeting room who had visited the peninsula in the last five years to raise their hands. As expected, none of the diplomats representing Western countries visited the republic.

“In the five years that have passed since the so-called “revolution of dignity”, and in fact, since the coup in Kyiv, many such storytellers have proliferated in and around Ukraine...

We have nothing against fairy tales, even scary ones. After all, this is a separate literary genre. The problem is that these tales, consciously or not, are perceived by many of our impressionable partners at face value, and conclusions are drawn and measures are taken based on them.

Let's conduct a small experiment - let those who were in Crimea after its reunification with the Russian Federation raise their hands. For example, I have been to Crimea three times. Once when it was still Ukrainian, twice when it became Russian, so I can compare it myself.

Let me ask you one question: on what basis can you judge the life of a territory that you have not been to and about which you, in fact, know nothing and do not seek to learn. What prevents you from coming to Crimea?

Contrary to the nonsense that we have heard not for the first time, Crimea is an absolutely open Russian region. We invite everyone there, because we have nothing to hide in Crimea. If you have a Russian visa, there are no problems getting there,” Polyansky said.
