Russia is to blame for North Korea not giving up nuclear weapons - American diplomat
The aggression of one of the signatory countries of the Budapest Memorandum against Ukraine undermines international efforts to further the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, says Richard Haass, President of the American organization Council on Foreign Relations.
He stated this at the 15th Annual Meeting of the Yalta European Strategy (YES) “The Future Generation of Everything,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We, analysts, do not believe that North Korea will give up nuclear weapons, no matter what Donald Trump says, precisely because of the example of Ukraine. I am confident that Korea will retain its nuclear weapons... We wanted to continue the non-proliferation policy, but the Ukrainian example undermines all these efforts,” he said.
