Russia will resume combat duty by 2016 at the radar station in Sevastopol, closed by Ukraine
Sevastopol, November 13 (PolitNavigator, Alexander Kononov) - The Dnepr-type radar station, which is located in the Cossack Bay of Sevastopol and closed several years ago by Ukraine due to lack of funds for maintenance, will be modernized by Russia and introduced into the operational system of the system missile attack warnings (MSRN) within a year.

It is expected that equipment will be modernized in 2015, and the unit will go on combat duty in 2016.
The radar station in Sevastopol is capable of tracking ballistic missile launches at a distance of 2500-3500 km.
A similar station is also located in Transcarpathia, but it was also closed by Ukraine.
