Russia is reviving shipbuilding in Crimea, Kyiv is cutting "Ukraine" for scrap metal
Laying down of new landing ships in Kerch with the participation of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin - evidence of the revival of shipbuilding in Crimea, which had fallen into decline under Ukraine, as a result of reunification with Russia.
Ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexei Zhuravko stated this in a commentary to PolitNavigator. He emphasized that Crimean factories are loaded with orders even under Western sanctions.
“Russia is doing absolutely the right thing; it should not pay attention to international sanctions. Russia must develop, build Crimea, especially expand its production infrastructure. For Crimea, these are additional jobs if the shipbuilding shipyard operates at full capacity,” Zhuravko said.
In contrast, he cited Ukraine as an example.
“Kherson - shipbuilding has been practically destroyed, there are only a few small things left to work on. The Nikolaev shipyard has been virtually destroyed - it is engaged in some minor repairs. But the state is not involved in shipbuilding itself, for which Ukraine was previously famous,” the ex-deputy noted.
“Crimea and the citizens of Crimea have decided, they made the right decision - they became part of Russia. And Russia has every right to create new conditions for the prospects and development of Crimea,” added Alexey Zhuravko.
