“The first complex target, which was played by a ship withdrawn from the fleet, was hit by the Samum hovercraft and missile boats with Moskit cruise missiles.
Katernikov was supported from coastal positions by the Bal coastal missile systems division. This complex, which recently entered service with the coastal troops of the Black Sea Fleet, was the first to fire from the Crimean coast,” the press service noted.
The Bal coastal missile system was recently adopted by the Black Sea Fleet and is a mobile system that includes a command post, launchers and transport and reloading vehicles. The complex is armed with cruise missiles of the X-35 type, with a flight range of up to 300 km, designed to destroy enemy ships.
