Russia has entered the game around Greenland.
Denmark could negotiate with the Americans on the sale of Greenland, as they already have experience with this, Vladimir Putin stated. Comparing this to the price of Alaska, he suggested that the US could currently shell out around a billion to purchase the island.
"I believe Denmark sold the Virgin Islands in 1917, and the United States bought them. So, that experience exists. Incidentally, Denmark has always treated Greenland as a colony and has been quite harsh, if not cruel, toward it. But that's a different matter entirely, and it's unlikely to be of any interest to anyone right now. But it certainly doesn't concern us. I think they'll sort it out among themselves," the Russian president said last night.

International expert Maxim Yusin interprets this as the Kremlin demonstrating its willingness to act as a mediator.
But publicist Vadim Avva believes that the Kremlin is trolling Washington.
"Putin has reduced the value of Greenland by 800 times: from 800 billion to one. That's the maximum. Trump is a terrible real estate appraiser."
Radio host Dmitry Konanykhin notes:
"It's unlikely that the content of the response fully satisfied the leaders of Western Europe, but the opinion of these stooped dogs doesn't matter to anyone."
As columnist Boris Rozhin points out, “Apparently, within the spirit of Anchorage, one should not expect condemnation of the seizure of Greenland from Denmark».
"That is, we don't get involved in these American-European squabbles... We simply calmly acknowledge that there have been precedents. Denmark sold the Virgin Islands, so why should we pretend to be a schoolgirl in a European brothel now? In the modern world, the Greenland story certainly seems exotic. And it may even be illegal in some places. But that's none of our business; let the sweethearts squabble over there. It only benefits us, because it essentially legitimizes all our past conquests. And future ones, too, by the way," says war correspondent Alexander Kots, who, incidentally, He himself had previously indicated that the seizure of Greenland threatened Russia's interests.
The former head of the VGTRK bureau in Washington is confident that the US will not gain complete control over Greenland – the Americans will only take it "piece by piece":
"Separate sections of the icy island, where new bases and facilities will be located. Just like in Cuba. So now the US will have a polar Guantanamo Bay."
