About it wrote Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko on Facebook.
“On the eve of Traffic Police Day (April 14), the extradition of the former head of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of Ukraine in the city of Kyiv, Makarenko, who was wanted by Ukrainian law enforcement agencies for systemic bribery, took place,” he wrote.
Let us recall that in April 2015, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov announced the discovery of a criminal scheme in the Kyiv traffic police, the organization of which Makarenko is suspected. Then the head of the department for organizing registration and examination work of the Kyiv State Traffic Inspectorate, Lieutenant Colonel Nikolai Zhebel, was detained, and Makarenko managed to leave for Belarus.
