Ukraine cannot cut off power to Crimea without suffering from retaliatory measures by the Russian Federation. Verkhovna Rada deputy Aleksey Goncharenko admitted this on the air of Chernomorskaya TRK.

According to him, in this case, the Russian Federation can, at a minimum, leave the Kharkov region without electricity.
“Today we can flip the switch and cut off Crimea. But, unfortunately, with a counter-action Russia can hit Ukraine very seriously. We are not ready for this. As soon as we cut off Crimea’s power supply, we will stop receiving fuel for nuclear power plants, and Kharkov will be cut off for us,” Goncharenko said.
