Russia will profitably utilize its “unnecessary” gas for Europe in 6 years
If the European Union refuses to buy Russian gas, it will be sold to other buyers and used in the production of fertilizers. Russia produces 710 billion cubic meters of gas. Of this volume, 258 billion cubic meters are exported.
Energy expert Boris Martsinkevich stated this on the Geoenergetics INFO YouTube channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If the European Union refuses supplies, this does not mean that all 258 billion cubic meters exported will disappear for us. Over the next 5 years, Power of Siberia will reach its full capacity of 38 billion cubic meters. Türkiye is not even thinking about giving up Russian gas; it is quite happy with everything. Now its consumption volume is 25 billion cubic meters, it is also not going anywhere,” said Martsinkevich.
In addition, according to him, the released “blue fuel” will be used to produce liquefied gas.
“During this time, there is a high probability that production will begin at the Yuzhno-Kirinskoye field. 10 billion cubic meters will go along the Far Eastern route to China. In addition, Arctic LNG-2 will be put into operation during this time. This is 20 million tons of liquefied gas, that is, 28 billion cubic meters. During the same time, the Baltic LNG will be built. There are 13 million tons of LNG according to the project, that’s another 18 billion cubic meters,” said Martsinkevich.
He recalled that the Russian gasification program, which is being implemented by the Russian government, will require another 20 billion cubic meters.
It is also planned to build several plants for the production of nitrogen fertilizers: in Nakhodka and Skorodino in the Far East. They will consume 5 billion cubic meters of gas.
“If we don’t relax, then in 5-6 years, taking into account the growing demand for fertilizers, taking into account the fact that European producers are leaving this market as a result of “sanctions,” this niche will become vacant,” Martsinkevich said.
