Russia enters from Sarmat
The era of strategic disarmament has reached a strategic dead end. A new arms race is beginning in the world.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports this, said military analyst retired lieutenant general Yuri Netkachev.
“Moscow’s statement that the Russian Federation is unilaterally suspending participation in monitoring the implementation of START-3, addressed not only to the United States, but also to other nuclear countries, in a certain sense suggests that the implementation of such a treaty in the current conditions is practically impossible to implement. This means that the global practice of strategic disarmament is apparently reaching a dead end.
And the arms race has already begun. Russia, having extensive experience in developing nuclear weapons during the Soviet era, now spends relatively little on its strategic offensive weapons. But the United States is investing fully in its military developments. This is evidenced by the Pentagon’s military budget, which is an order of magnitude higher than the Russian one. But this does not mean that they will be able to defeat Russia,” the general told Nezavisimaya Gazeta.
According to him, the information from the Russian leader about the placement of new ground-based strategic systems on combat duty indicates that the most powerful Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missiles in the world have most likely been put into combat operation.
“Putin did not speak directly about Sarmatians. But, as previously reported, the efforts of our defense industry were devoted to the development of these weapons. “Sarmatians are the most effective deterrent for enemies: these ICBMs are capable of destroying the United States or any other enemy 20 times in one launch,” Netkachev concluded.
