Russia expects Trump to force Poroshenko to Minsk
Russia is waiting for the Donald Trump administration to begin to influence the position of Petro Poroshenko, who stubbornly refuses to implement the signed Minsk agreements on Donbass.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergei Ryabkov said this in an interview with the Izvestia newspaper.

“Dialogue with us, despite all its importance, cannot replace Washington’s dialogue with Kiev. The problem with the implementation of the Minsk agreements is related to the behavior of the Kyiv authorities, who are clearly pursuing their policy of disrupting and revising them... American colleagues must conduct a dialogue with the Kyiv authorities if they really want to move forward,” the diplomat said.
The newspaper notes that the main negotiator with the United States remains Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Vladislav Surkov. Now Moscow expects the State Department to decide on its candidacy for negotiator with the Russian Federation, who should replace Victoria Nuland.
