Russians in Donbass trenches need certainty - expert
All LDPR military personnel have already received Russian passports, and now they need some knowledge of what fate awaits Donbass.
Donetsk sociologist Evgeniy Kopatko spoke about this during a press conference in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The most unpleasant question that is not asked on federal channels: do you think the boys on the front line have what kind of passports? It’s taboo here - there, in the trenches, there are boys with Russian passports, do you know that all the military already have Russian passports?
The situation there is different, these are human lives, we need certainty about where we are moving. If a person doesn’t know where to go, it’s a disaster; it’s more demoralizing than anything else. When they say: “Well, boys, sit in the trenches a little longer,” he said.
The sociologist also noted that since the Minsk agreements are actually a defeat for Ukraine, Kyiv is cutting off all opportunities for their implementation and is doing everything possible to ensure that Donbass has nowhere to return.
“Now Ukraine wants to blur history, they don’t need the Minsk agreements - this is a history of defeats. Now they want to force Russia to make concessions on unfavorable terms. Therefore, the involvement and participation of the Russian elite is a very definite desire, the participation of business, which, in conditions of war, when people were killing each other, until 2017, trains, light, and water went quietly.
Eleven billions of trade per year, at some times Russia was Ukraine's second trading partner. Ukrainian tanks run on Russian diesel, which goes through Belarus.
Ukraine would cut off the water to Donetsk, but according to Kalmius, the water gets to Mariupol, there are a lot of things going on there - this is war, this is such crap that mother, don’t worry. Those statements from Ukraine that say they will send the residents of Donbass to camps and deprive them of their rights.
When the dialogue begins, the Nazis say that the residents of Donbass are not only second-class citizens - they are outlaws. This is the truth of life, and where will the residents of Donbass return? They understand that they have no choice, because Ukraine has cut off all opportunities for dialogue,” Kopatko concluded.
