Russians don't want to work for 50 thousand a month
A number of Russian enterprises are short of workers due to a shortage of migrants.
The President of the Federation of Migrants of Russia, Vadim Kozhenov, stated this in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, due to the pandemic and the closure of borders, more than a million migrants were unable to enter Russia or left it, which affected the economy.
“Our citizens simply don’t want to take on many types of work. A modern waste processing plant was built near Rostov-on-Don. There are high technologies, conveyors, automation - no need to move a shovel. Plus free hostel and salary up to 50 thousand rubles. The plant requires 500 people, but they can’t find them!” the publication’s interlocutor said.
He also cited as an example the situation with an electronics assembly shop near Nizhny Novgorod.
“Free hostel and all facilities are also provided. Salary – 32 thousand rubles per month. They need 400 workers, but they don't have them. Locals don’t go there - although the work is normal and the salary is decent for the region. Now businessmen constantly come and ask for help finding workers, but the borders are closed, and everyone who is here has already been accommodated,” Kozhenov said.
