The Russians are going to compete with the Rothschilds for the Chisinau airport
The Russian holding Novaport remains interested in the Chisinau airport and is waiting for the Moldovan government to announce a competition.
Co-owner of the holding Roman Trotsenko told reporters about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Yes, we are interested if they formulate some kind of decision for themselves: they support the old concession, they put forward a new concession... Let them decide for themselves. We will already integrate into the process that the government of the country considers appropriate for itself. If they announce a competition, we will take part in it,” Trotsenko said.
Earlier, President of Moldova Igor Dodon did not rule out the arrival of Russian investors at the Chisinau International Airport and the port on the Dniester Giurgiulesti. At the same time, he recalled that the airport must be returned to state ownership. It is now under concession from a company recently owned by Nathaniel Rothschild.
The Public Property Agency of Moldova filed a lawsuit against the company Avia Invest, which in 2013 received a concession for the Chisinau International Airport. On August 30, Avia Invest changed ownership; 95% of its shares now belong to NR Investments Ltd of Nathaniel Rothschld. The previous owner, oligarch and husband of singer Jasmine, Ilan Shor, fled the country.
