Russians choose Trump
For the development of bilateral relations between Russia and the United States, according to participants in a VTsIOM survey, the victory of Donald Trump is preferable to Hillary Clinton. They will improve if Trump wins on November 8, according to 29% of respondents, while only 4% share this opinion regarding Clinton’s presidency. Eight percent are confident that Trump's election will make the situation worse, and 8 percent expect it to get worse if Clinton is elected.

Every third (35%) believes that Trump's victory is more in line with Russia's national interests. Only 6% believe that a Clinton victory is more in the national interest. And every fifth (22%) noted that neither of the two candidates meets the interests of Russia.
More than half of those surveyed (57%) believe that the voting result in the United States is important for Russia; 38% hold the opposite point of view. 53% of respondents show interest in the topic of American presidential elections. Every second person (52%) believes that the advanced age of both political leaders is a sign of the degeneration of the American electoral system.
An initiative all-Russian survey by VTsIOM was conducted on October 8-9, 2016 in 130 settlements in 46 regions, territories and republics and 8 federal districts of Russia. Sample size: 1600 people.
