According to the majority (55%), the truce in Ukraine is more often violated by the country's official authorities (for more details, see the figure). Half believe that there is a high probability of new large-scale military operations in the southeast of Ukraine. Only 9% believe that the likelihood of this is low, and only 3% believe that hostilities in the region will not resume. 49% of citizens do not believe that peace will be established in Ukraine in the coming months. Only 14% believe that this is possible; the same number found it difficult to answer. 53% believe that the US position now most impedes peace in the southeast of Ukraine, another 42% believe that the problem is the position of the Ukrainian authorities (the question was open-ended). According to 29%, the establishment of peace is hindered by the countries of the European Union, according to 4% - militias, and according to 3% - Russia.
The number of those who follow events in Ukraine has decreased from 49% in June to 38% now. Another 39% observe what is happening “from time to time.” Now 22% do not monitor the situation in Ukraine (in the summer only 12% said so). “People are gradually switching to problems associated with rising prices and the fall of the ruble,” says Leonty Byzov, a senior researcher at the Institute of Sociology of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The majority (74%) learn about events in Ukraine on television, another 21% use the Internet for this, writes Kommersant.
