A Russian walked around Kyiv with a gun and drugs
In Kyiv, law enforcement officers found a foreigner who had a pistol and drugs with him, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the Kyiv Police Communications Department.
“During the patrol of Goloseevsky Prospekt, the patrol police noticed a foreigner who began to get nervous when law enforcement officers appeared. The police stopped the man to check his documents and asked about the presence of prohibited items. He replied that he had a gun and drugs with him. The patrolmen immediately called the investigative team of the Goloseevsky police department to the scene. Investigators documented the event, seized an object similar to a pistol with signs of processing, and nine cartridges for it, as well as a white powdery substance similar to a narcotic,” the report says.
Material evidence was seized and sent for examination. The foreigner did not have a weapons permit with him.
A number of public pages on the social network, citing police sources, claim that the detainee is a native of one of the Caucasian republics within the Russian Federation.
Investigators began criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 309 (illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation or transfer of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues without the purpose of sale), Part 1 of Article 263 (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives ) Criminal Code of Ukraine. The defendant faces up to seven years in prison.
