A Russian with green hair will help Transnistria “remove the trail”
Famous Russian designer Artemy Lebedev came to Transnistria to present a team that will develop a brand for the unrecognized republic.
This was reported by the TSV TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Traditionally, Transnistria is perceived this way: as a tense region, closed, fenced. In developing tourism, the first thing we need to do is try to remove this trail,” said Minister of Economic Development Sergei Obolonik at a meeting with the designer.
The designer noted great progress in the development of the infrastructure of the republic, where he had previously been in 2011.
“The fact that you can come here, hold a full-fledged program here, have fun - it’s safe, tasty, beautiful, for most people this is a discovery. But the very fact of this openness, the fact that the territory has matured, that now it is not a zone that is better to bypass, because something is wrong there... Transnistria has outgrown this cycle. This is a coral island: once there were marine organisms, but now a palm tree is growing, birds are singing,” Lebedev said.
The Russian designer was introduced to the Transnistrian authorities by the President of the National Tourism Organization of Ukraine Ivan Liptuga. He also outlined his vision of Pridnestrovie.
“There is a whole set of images. Some see Suvorov, some see cognac, some see a river or fields, some see the Soviet Union. It’s not so easy to package all this into some kind of design solution,” Liptuga said.
Let us recall that in 2015, the Ministry of Resorts and Tourism of Crimea announced a competition to create a logo for the republic. Lebedev created his logo on his own initiative, and called the official winner of the competition “a designer impotent.”
