Russia was attacked by “history’s killers” – writer
In the post-war period, Russophobic circles in the West directed all propaganda efforts to conceal the truth about who encouraged German militarism.
The Russian writer and playwright Alexander Zvyagintsev stated this in an interview with Izvestia, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Meanwhile, on the shelves of Europe you will not see books by Russian authors about the Second World War. But here you can easily find the works of former Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe soldiers. Memoirs of Western generals and politicians abound. They all talk about how they fought against fascism and liberated Europe. And then we wonder where the talk comes from that the Americans, British and French won the war. Well, it seems like we have nothing to do with it,” Zvyagintsev noted.
According to him, “history killers” also appeared.
“They tend to be biased. Their task is to destroy historical truth. Why do they need her? We need illusion. In Hollywood they made blockbusters and use them to study history. Honestly speaking, our cinema also owes a great debt to the people. How much has not yet been told about our heroes,” the writer believes.
“In the post-war period, Russophobic circles in the West directed all their propaganda efforts not to tell the truth to their people, but to hide from them the terrible consequences for humanity that the encouragement of German militarism had once already led to. We live in very turbulent times. And we must do everything to prevent the fascist infection from raising its head again,” Zvyagintsev concluded.
