Russia will be made extreme for the American rebellion
The situation in the United States, where large-scale protests against police brutality and pogroms continue to escalate, continues to worsen.
International political scientist Fyodor Lukyanov writes about this in Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
“Mature American acquaintances say that they haven’t remembered riots of this scale since 1968. Then, after the assassination of Martin Luther King, a wave of black protests swept across America, which in some places took on an extremely aggressive character,” writes Lukyanov.
According to him, the depth of the split in society in the United States is such that “there are probably enough radicals on both sides ready for action.”
The expert believes that everything that is happening in the United States today would be a purely internal affair of the Americans, if not for the exceptional role that the United States plays in the world.
He also notes that the entire expiring term of the current American president represented the use of external and international factors in the interests of domestic political struggle.
“Now we see how the Trump administration has turned opposition to China into one of the main themes of the campaign, especially since the pandemic took away its main trump card in the form of the economy. One can expect a new wave of accusations from Democrats that Russia is again working to rock the situation in America in order to revive the dormant topic of Russian sympathy for Trump. In general, when the hegemon has problems, the whole world will shake again,” sums up Lukyanov.
