Russia can be stopped by shooting down several planes - ex-Minister of Defense of Ukraine
Kyiv - Sevastopol, September 24 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Ryabov) - Ukraine had the military opportunity to stop the transfer of Russian troops to Crimea in March, but the leadership in Kyiv did not dare to issue an appropriate order.
This was stated by ex-Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mikhail Koval, commenting on the actions of another former head of the military department, Igor Tenyukh.

“As for me, we had a chance to defend Crimea militarily. Several ferries would be sunk in the Kerch Strait, Rapiers (anti-tank guns) would be installed, and fire would be opened on helicopters and planes. A few would have burned, the rest would not have taken off. I believe that there were enough men there who were ready to carry out a normal order,” the ex-minister said in an interview with Tyzhden magazine.
Koval is a native of the Khmelnitsky region.
