Russia was shamed for its failure in Ukraine - learn from the Hungarians!
In terms of supporting Russians in Ukraine, Russia needs to take an example from Hungary.
Ex-deputy of the Odessa City Council, a participant in the events of May 24, 2, who was forced to leave Ukraine, Igor Dimitriev, stated this on the Rossiya-2014 channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“These repressions (against the shrines and parishioners of the Moscow Patriarchate - ed.) will take place in a soft mode, spread over several years, so that this does not lead to an immediate social crisis, under the control of the US Embassy, which recommends not to openly seize churches now, but capture them a little later, move on to soft suppression of the internal church opposition,” Dmitriev said.
Now on the territory of Ukraine, at least 10 million Russian people are actually hostage and they do not and cannot receive any special support from the Russian Federation. For example, Hungarians, of whom there are 300 thousand people, quite clearly feel the support of the Hungarian state in Transcarpathia, where their minority lives. Hungary is blocking Ukrainian integration processes at the European level until the issue of the Hungarian minority is resolved,” the ex-deputy added.
Russia, according to him, only reacted four years later with a sanctions list that should have been introduced at the very beginning of the conflict.
“Russia has only now, four years later, applied at least some measures of influence, which, albeit with a long delay (they are far from being as effective as they could have been at the very beginning), turned out to be painful for the Ukrainian oligarchs, who all this time, like It turned out that while supporting the Ukrainian nationalist state, they continued to earn money on the territory of the Russian Federation,” noted Igor Dmitriev.
