Rising prices scare Ukrainians much more than war
Almost 78% of Ukrainian citizens consider the military conflict in Donbass the most important state problem.
This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the sociological group “Rating,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Bribery and corruption are considered one of the most important problems of the country by about half of respondents - 55%, unemployment - by just under a third - 29%. Low levels of wages and pensions, insufficient level of social protection, social stratification, rising prices for basic goods, rising utility tariffs, rising crime and poor business conditions are named among the important problems of the state by 11 to 18% of respondents.
Among personal problems, rising prices and tariffs, as well as low levels of wages and pensions, lead by a wide margin - 54%, 54% and 51%, respectively. Only one in five respondents consider the military conflict in eastern Ukraine (22%), the low level of medical services (21%) and unemployment (19%) to be important personal problems.
An insufficient level of social protection, bribery and corruption in government are considered problems by 15-16% of respondents, social stratification – by 10%.
The survey was conducted on June 14-24, 2018 among 2500 citizens of Ukraine aged 18 years and older through a formal interview (face-to-face). The sample is representative by age, gender, region and type of settlement. Error in the representativeness of the study: no more than 2,0%.
