Rostislav Ishchenko: Poroshenko will not serve until the end of his term, but it is unlikely that he will be replaced by someone more adequate
Petro Poroshenko will not serve out the rest of his presidential term, but it is unlikely that someone more adequate will replace him as head of state. Political scientist Rostislav Ishchenko expressed this opinion to PolitNavigator, commenting on the 3rd anniversary of Poroshenko’s election as Ukrainian president.

“I think that Poroshenko will not see out the end of his presidential term, because no one needs him as the president of Ukraine - neither in Ukraine nor abroad. And there are quite a lot of people who want to take this post, so it will be extremely difficult for him to serve until the end of his term, especially in conditions of growing political instability and economic catastrophe.
His departure can happen either quickly or slowly - it depends not on him, but on the willingness of his opponents to move him. They could have done this a year ago or tomorrow. There is no reason to expect that more adequate politicians will come to replace him, because there are no more adequate ones in Ukraine,” Ishchenko concluded.
