“This gives us the opportunity to do a little PR, to say: see how harshly we stomped our feet. But this will limit the authorities' room for maneuver. Radicals will come to her, whom she fears more than Russia. They just decided to blockade Donbass again. They will say, since Russia is an aggressor country, let’s interrupt all transport links,” Ishchenko said.
He believes that the radicals will soon demand that the Ukrainian authorities close the border with Russia, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Why do millions of Ukrainians cross the border with an aggressor country. Let's close the border. And they will be right. If you are attacked, close the borders. The authorities will have a dilemma. Or close the border to please the radicals. Then citizens will have to explain where to feed them. If you don’t close the border, then evil radicals will come,” Ishchenko said.
