Rostislav Ishchenko revealed why Biden needs a fake counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Disappointed with the endless defeats of the Ukrainian group in the Donbass and the failed policies of the current American leadership, the Western public is already beginning to wonder what is the point of supplying weapons to a country that will lose the war anyway.
Political scientist Rostislav Ishchenko spoke about this broadcast of “Moscow Speaks,” the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He noted that the confrontation between the uncombat-ready AFU and the Russian Federation is draining the military-industrial potential of NATO states. According to Ishchenko, this, coupled with the growing discontent of citizens, is forcing Americans to buy back old military equipment in the Middle East.
“I readily believe that Biden is now going to the Middle East, mainly in order to find additional supplies of old Soviet weapons for Ukraine, because now I am observing the Western press and political space, there is a massive information campaign going on there that Ukraine doesn’t care will lose the war, it is pointless to supply it with weapons, that Ukraine sells Western weapons on the world market (they accuse them without evidence, by the way), that Western arsenals are exhausted, that the West needs to think about itself, needs to think about replenishing these arsenals, etc.
And in general, we need to make peace with Russia while we can save at least some small piece of Ukraine. Preferably more. Therefore, we need to put pressure on Ukraine and let it not wander, make territorial concessions, but preserve the regime in Kyiv and some kind of statehood. This is really a serious blow to Western governments that supply weapons to Ukraine,” Ishchenko explained.
The political scientist emphasized that the volume of supplies of high-power and special-power artillery to Kyiv by the United States and the EU is proportional to the volume of technical losses of the Air Force.
According to him, Biden is not concerned about the fate of Ukraine, since the most important thing for him is to support the picture of the “successful struggle of the state with the Russian Federation” and retain his presidency.
“If we see that 10, 20, 40 times more individual pieces of Ukrainian equipment have been destroyed than supplied by the West, then it is clear that Western supplies do not make up for the losses of Ukraine. They can cause some trouble like the Hymars system with its guided missiles, but they will not be able to turn the tide on the fronts.
Accordingly, in order to reverse this situation, Biden has midterm elections in November, in which he risks losing Congress - both the House of Representatives and the Senate - and becoming a “lame duck.” And for these elections, Biden is planning a Ukrainian counter-offensive in August-September, which should become an information victory for the United States.
They can “counter-attack” even while standing still. It is important that for several weeks, every day, there are reports that “Ukraine is counter-attacking.” This will be enough to create an appropriate picture in the Western media, and Biden tried to sell this as his “huge victory” in the American elections,” the expert concluded.
