Rostislav Ishchenko: Reports about a change in the “curator” of Ukraine in the Kremlin are fake
Reports that appeared in the media the day before about the dismissal of Vladislav Surkov, Vladimir Putin’s adviser, who oversees the direction of Ukraine and Donbass in the Kremlin, is disinformation planted by ill-wishers.
Political scientist Rostislav Ishchenko told PolitNavigator about this.

He explained that in the current conditions, personnel changes would lead to an unwanted pause in the negotiations on Donbass.
“Surkov already personifies a certain policy. If he left, then this would be a demonstration not only for interested people in Russian society, but also for Donbass, Ukraine, the United States, and our Western partners, that Russian policy will now undergo changes. This means that there will be someone else and there will be a different policy. Accordingly, we are faced with the fact that our negotiating partners pause because they want to see what the policy will be. They don’t care who it will be, they want to see the figure and understand what the personification of politics will be. Throughout this period they will sit and wait to see if Surkov has been removed, who will take his place, and when he will, we need to wait for his first steps, what new actions will be. Well, then continue negotiations. Therefore, from my point of view, such a dismissal is simply not technologically feasible right now,” Ishchenko said.
