Unlike Moscow и Peter, in Rostov-on-Don, Navalnists were met at the gathering place by an authorized picket in support of Vladimir Putin and the actions of law enforcement officers. “Work, brothers!” – read the poster of NOD activists, who were the first to occupy the site near the Don State Public Library.

Supporters of Alexei Navalny, who gathered about 150 people, got into an altercation with a man who, through a megaphone, explained to the rather aggressive young people about the futility of moving with overseas patrons.

From the very morning in Rostov, the police took competent measures to prevent uncoordinated rallies in the city center - almost all central squares, parks and squares were cordoned off by police with batons and even gas masks, and the personnel were reinforced by orange KAMAZ trucks to clean the streets.

At 12:22, a young guy and his girlfriend in a red jacket led those gathered to protest along Pushkinskaya towards the park named after. Gorky. But after only 100 meters the protesters came across a police cordon and a metal fence.

Interestingly, the police did not prevent anyone from passing through the fence. However, the crowd of Navalists began chanting “Let me through!”, “Putin, get out!” and other prepared chants.

And then the police began to “become childish.” Both older liberals and youngsters were detained for violating the law on rallies.

It should be noted that the activity of Navalnists dropped sharply - there were few people willing to visit police stations.

“At some point, the senior police lieutenant grabbed me by the left hand and dragged me somewhere, apparently mistaking me for a liberal. But my subordinate was stopped by a fellow captain, and I continued my report,” said blogger and reporter Sergei Rulev.

After literally half an hour of police work, only NOD activists remained on the site.

“I met a red-haired ringleader-provocateur - a tall young man in a red jacket, who on January 23 was supervising young people on Pushkinskaya. Today the ringleader had no clients, and he angrily tried to pester me and the NOD activists. As soon as the ringleader-provocateur wanted to film his communication with me on a mini-camera, he was sent on a very long erotic journey on foot,” said Rulev.

“This is where the whole Navalnino fuss ended in the city of Battle Glory, Rostov-on-Don. And almost all activists of “Navalny’s Headquarters in RnD” were placed under arrest by the local police and the Center for XNUMX hours for calling for uncoordinated rallies. So, “everything is calm in Baghdad!”

By the way, in addition to the NOD, another picket was held in Rostov on Sunday, and it was an opposition one. On Lenin Square the movement “For New Socialism!” demanded freedom for Nikolai Platoshkin, who himself received house arrest last summer for calling for protests against amendments to the Constitution during the pandemic,” the reporter concluded.
