The cultural institution will be built from glass and metal in the shape of a seagull with wide-open wings. The area of the site where the majestic building will be built is 5,8 hectares.

In the new opera house, residents and guests of the city will have 1100 seats in the large hall and another 200 seats in the chamber hall. The theater will also have a rehearsal room, administration rooms, several stages, service and technical rooms, stage pockets, a circular panorama, a room for VIPs, as well as a restaurant.

The theater's balcony will be made into an open functional area. It is expected that it will hang over the water's edge. Day and night it will offer a picturesque view of the Sevastopol Bay.

Earlier it was reported that the Stroygazmontazh company, associated with the billionaire Rotenberg brothers, began large-scale construction on Cape Khrustalny in the center of Sevastopol. In addition to the opera theater, the complex will include a large museum, a choreographic school, a school of musical and theatrical art with a campus and a dormitory, and a cinema and concert hall.

Investments in the amount of 25 billion rubles are envisaged. The customer is the National Cultural Heritage Foundation, founded by the Mariinsky Theater, the Hermitage, the Tretyakov Gallery and the Bolshoi Theater. Earlier, the government of Sevastopol approved the foundation’s request for the allocation without competition of three land plots on Cape Khrustalny with a total area of 18,3 hectares. The first facilities will be commissioned in 2023.
