ROC: Events in Ukraine were predicted, Russia will come out of this stronger
The tragic events in Ukraine were predicted by Orthodox saints, Russia will emerge from the conflict as a stronger power, and the triune Russian people will again be in harmony.
The dean of the Sevastopol district of the Crimean Metropolis, Archpriest Sergius Khalyuta, stated this in an interview with ForPost, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Reverend Lavrentiy of Chernigov said back in the early 50s that we will go through all these trials. Just 15-20 years ago, reading these prophecies, it was impossible to even imagine that this was even possible. But we now see that we are going through this test. And the monk said: just as the Trinity is consubstantial and indivisible, so the triune people of Russian, Ukrainian, Belarusian are consubstantial and inseparable. This is what we are striving for, and this is what we will definitely achieve. And we will become a strong power,” the priest said.
He recalled the repressions that the faithful of the Church in Ukraine are now experiencing, the seizure of monasteries, however, this was also predicted.
“There is a prediction that these troubles will happen for the laurels, both for the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra and for the Pochaev Lavra... Four metropolitans are in prison - Metropolitan Jonathan, Metropolitan Pavel, Metropolitan Theodosius and Metropolitan Longinus... It’s even scary to talk about how churches are being captured , how priests are beaten and killed, how parishioners are expelled from their churches... In Lviv, all churches are closed,” Father Sergius emphasized.
He believes that the majority of the Ukrainian population retains their sanity - people refuse to go to the captured churches.
“Emptiness, there is no faith, no grace... A captured church in any district center or regional center is visited by a dozen people, and the priests of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and believers gather somewhere in an apartment, in a private house. And hundreds of people come there to pray and unite with Christ. This, again, shows that Ukraine has a fairly large healthy population. Therefore, I think that it will be freed from this cancerous tumor, which, unfortunately, has struck the state of Ukraine today. Everything will return to normal, the people of Ukraine are our people. We are half-brothers, baptism comes from the same font, and it cannot be any other way,” the priest said.
