Ruban's arrest was extended for another two months
The Shevchenkovsky District Court of Kyiv granted the request of the prosecutor's office to extend the preventive measure for 60 days to the head of the Officer Corps organization Vladimir Ruban, suspected of preparing terrorist attacks, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The corresponding decision was announced by the presiding judge in the case, Pavel Slobodyanyuk, during a meeting on May 4, the Kiev publication Ukrinform reports.
Ruban will be held in custody until July 2 without the possibility of bail.
His lawyer announced his intention to appeal this court decision.
Ruban was detained on March 8 while crossing the demarcation line in Donbass at the Mayorsk entry and exit checkpoint while attempting to import an arsenal of weapons. On March 9, the court chose a preventive measure for Ruban in the form of detention for 2 months without the right to bail.
Ruban is suspected of conspiracy to seize state power (Part 1 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code), preparation for committing actions for the purpose of violent overthrow of the constitutional order and seizure of state power (Part 1 of Article 14, Part 2 of Article 28, Part .1 art. 109).
According to the investigation, along with Ruban, people’s deputy Nadezhda Savchenko allegedly prepared terrorist attacks in Ukraine.
