The leadership of the DPR and LPR was changed in order to replace the power scenario with a negotiated one - opinion
Sevastopol, September 05 (PolitNavigator, Alexander Kononov) - The change in the leadership of the DPR and LPR is associated with a change in the scenario from a forceful one to a negotiated one, says Konstantin Zatulin, director of the Institute of CIS Countries.
He said this in Sevastopol, answering a question from PolitNavigator.

“I think that everything in the world is connected, including this. I think that there are different stages, and I respect everyone who dedicated themselves to the defense of Novorossiya at different stages. There are many of my personal friends there. But all the people there are different, including the leaders of this militia. Moreover, they are not always good boys, they are not always knights without fear and reproach. There are all sorts of facts that always happen in war, especially in a semi-partisan war. And bandits and looters. This also exists, and we must understand it,” Zatulin explained.
According to him, he personally had to repeatedly use his authority to resolve some excesses.
“I am a member of the Cossack Union. They called me from the Lugansk region, they said that some left-wing Cossacks from the Rostov region captured this or captured that, or seized the cars of our own guys and are trying to speculate on it. We had to call, get them, they were released, and so on. I succeeded in some things, but in others, I probably didn’t get it,” said the politician.
At this stage, according to Zatulin, a change in leadership is a conscious need.
“This is all a complicated story, and it leads to a reassessment of values and to the promotion of new, of course, people. But in general, I think yes - probably this change was related to the fact that it was necessary to find people who would be able to react more flexibly to the current situation. But, as you can see, these people in no way became, as predicted, people who would surrender Novorossiya, but, on the contrary, it was under them that Novorossiya achieved success.”
